Great Surf Session with My Go Pro Camera

Today was an amazing day considering I was very unsure of how the weather would be after yesterday's rain. The surf report was calling for good waves and clear skies, so I was hopeful that it would be worth the trip. Boy was it ever! It was a bit chilly in the morning but the waves were firing. The lighting was great so i brought the Go Pro camera and took the following shots. Don't forget to check out the video clip as well.

Palm Springs Weekend

Bob and Chrisanne were kind enough to take the entire family to Palm Springs for the weekend. We stayed in an amazing hotel called the Renaissance Esmeralda Spa and Resort where we lounged by the pools, ate & drank, watched movies outside by the pool, and enjoyed a fun weekend with the family. We would definitely recommend staying at this resort and hope to back again ourselves. The kids enjoyed being in the water all day and I wish I would have taken more pictures of those moments. Below is what I was able to capture so I hope you enjoy.

Camping in Encinitas

Spent the last couple of days camping at San Elijo State Beach in Encinitas with grandma and grandpa. Active was having it's annual surf contest and this year turned the event into a camping trip. Kirra was asking to go camping again so this worked out great. Mom and Dad brought their trailer and all the camping gear so it really made everything much easier. A great time was had by all so enjoy the pictures.

Active was invited to run the merchandise booth for the Maloof Cup in Washington DC for Labor Day weekend. I missed the swell of the century while I was gone but at least I got to go some place new. We worked pretty much all day during the trip so most of my site seeing was done at night. I was able to connect with a childhood friend (Nate Carter) that I had not seen since we were twelve. We did have labor day off so a few of us drove three hours to Ocean City, Maryland to surf the Atlantic Ocean for the first time.

Kirra's 3rd Birthday Celebrations

Kirra turned 3 and we celebrated for a week straight, so it seemed. The celebration was highlighted by a trip to the circus with Poppa and Grandma Chrisanne, then a two hour jump fest at Pump it up with 10 of Kirra's friends, followed by cake and more presents at Grandma Karen's house, and then a day at California adventure with the sitter Alysia and cousin Brooklyn. Kirra enjoyed every second of it and was so much fun to watch. Enjoy the pictures.

Back to the Beach

Living in southern California you can never get enough of the beach. This day we met up with Poppa and Grandma Chrisanne and all of the uncles for a day at Huntington Beach near Brookhurst. We had Ryan, Cameron, and Nolan there along with Bobby and Tommy. Brandi, Elsie, and Jennifer also came for the fun as we spent the day playing in the sand and water. Grandma and Grandpa Heller also came to hang out and it was quite the family affair. We had a great time so enjoy the pictures.

A Day at the Beach

Kirra had been telling me that she wanted to go to the beach and since Erin had plans today, I decided I would take Kirra and Taj to the beach. Erin and the kids bought me a cool new toy for Father's Day so I wanted to try it out with Kirra. Grandma and Grandpa Heller joined us along with the McVey crew and Bobby & Elsie. Kirra loves her cousins and her aunts and uncles. It was a great day and was well documented.

The last pictures and video are that new toy of mine.

Heller's go to the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii

Aloha Friends! We just got back from Hawaii where we had a great time despite the not so great weather. Fortunately, we did get some sunshine the first couple days and had a few wedding celebrations to attend the rest of the week which kept us busy.

Kirra managed to entertain herself with some vintage Hawaiian decor that was on display in the house we were staying at.

We had a great view and although the rain was relentless, it did provide us with a nice rainbow that you can barely make out in the background of this photo.

Our first full day on Oahu did prove to be the best as we saw lots of sunshine and enjoyed a few hours on the beach and in the water. Kirra had her PB&J with her toes in the sand.

Kirra also enjoyed her first Lava Flow. Menus the alcohol of course.

We kept Taj well covered with sunscreen, clothes, and an umbrella, but had to pull him out for the photo opportunity.

Later that evening, we went to the pre-wedding celebration party at the house of Tiffany, Tino, and Caden where the Bride and groom entertained us with a game of newlywed. Kirra didn't hesitate to claim Cadens toys as her own.

Friday morning, we set off on a hike to Wiamea falls where we were surrounded by lots of flora and fauna that was vibrant due to the several days of rain that fell before our arrival and during.

Poppa and Grandma Chrisanne really enjoyed the hike as well and helped Kirra hike through the different trails.

Halfway to the falls, a cloud formed and you could hear the rain coming our way. We literally saw the down poor heading right for us and actually ran to a tree we had just passed that provided us with enough shelter to wait out the rain.

After about 5 minutes, the rain passed and we made our way to the falls.

The rain had been so intense that the falls were closed to swimmers due to the high water levels, fast current, and chocolate brown water.

That night we ate our our favorite Mexican food spot on the North shore (Cholo's), where we ran into the wedding party that was having their rehearsal dinner. Here is Kirra with Tiffany, the Bride to be.

The next day we saw the rain continue and stayed around the house besides my daily morning surf session at Rocky Point. That afternoon was the wedding and we were all ready for the celebration. Kirra's dancing was very impressive and it was obvious that she has inherited the Heller family ability to move with the music. We have a superstar on our hands. Look out j-lo.

Chris and Kirra were best buds all week and we were thankful that Chris and his parents were so gracious to open up their home to us. Since Chris has not yet given his parents grandchildren, Kirra was treated like their own and always in great hands.

It was a great trip and Erin and i are so glad that we took this opportunity and did not have any issues travelling with the two kids. The flight, transportation, and accommodations were all great and we really did not have any issues. We were like professionals in the airport and did not miss a beat. We cant wait to do it again!

Easter Weekend and "N" Breakfast

Happy Easter everyone! Our annual Easter camping adventure had us back at Leo Carrillo for the second consecutive year and we scored some perfect weather and some great campsites. The highlight of this years trip was having some old friends join us for their very first camping trips. Both the Aguirre family and the Quintanilla family decided to rough it along with Bobby and Elsie Goodwin who are always up for an adventure.

Like I said, the campsites were perfect and having my parents nearby gave us someplace cozy to seek refuge if Taj was in need of some quiet time.

We spent couple of days at the beach where Kirra was able to play in the sand and...

Our site was full of tents, toys, kids, and excitement.

Finally we had Easter and all the little girls & boys were visited by the always generous Easter Bunny.

The eggs were hidden and the hunters were in full force to find some prized possessions.

It was fun to watch the youngest hunters search for eggs because they consistently would pick up an egg and shake it to hear the candy. If it was a bit heavy and made no sound, it meant it was a real egg and would be put back for another older kid to retrieve.

It was an amazing weekend this year and I hope the first timers are willing to do it again and become a part of the tradition.

Kirra goes to Sea World

Before Erin goes back to work from her leave of absence from the birth of Taj, we decided to treat Kirra to a day at Sea World. We had a great time and enjoyed the experience with Grandma and Grandpa Heller.

Despite getting a premiere seat in the soak zone of the Shamu show, we were surprise just how soaked we actually got. We did sit in the very top of the zone, but soon realized that the majority of the splash skipped over the closer rows and landed directly on us.

Kirra enjoyed the play area...

Day at the park with the Q's

Jim and Elaine Quintanilla came over this weekend with their beautiful daughter Ellie. Ellie and Kirra are great friends and they had a great time at the park. They were so much fun to photograph and it was such a great time that I couldn't help but post this on our blog. Check these out and watch out for these cuties in the future. I cant wait to watch them grow up together.

Camping at Refugio

Kirra had been asking to go camping for weeks so I decided to join my parents for a day and a half in Refugio where they were staying all week. She was so excited and had an absolute blast. We packed so much into the short time we had there and wore her out. You can see how many different activities we managed to squeeze in and the great photos I was able to get.

A small playground was near our sight just across the grass. Kirra would swing... climb...

and slide.

We had a great spot and got comfortable.

Kirra saw some people with wetsuits on and came back to camp and told me she wanted to go surfing.

How could I resist.

So we suited up and headed towards the point.

Kirra caught two great waves and said she wanted to get out. she was surfed out for the day.

After a hard surf session, Kirra had worked up a hunger and cooked her own hot dog with Grandma.

Then we had smore's which was the main reason she wanted to go camping in the first place.

The next morning was beautiful and despite Kirra's bundled up look, it was actually quite comfortable.

Not sure where she learned this but i turned around and saw her making sand angels.

Kirra had fun with Grandma and Grandpa Heller.

We then ventured off for a hike to the point.

We had a nice lunch before heading home and really appreciated the time we had together and with the grandparents.

Hopefully that trip will hold Kirra over until Easter when we head to Leo Carrillo for more camping and adventure.

Brooklyn's 1st Birthday Celebration

Taj Beau and his 1st weeks and 1st Super Bowl Party

Taj is only a couple weeks old but he is starting to show his personality.

Big sister Kirra is also adjusting and trying to figure out her new toy Taj. She loves him so much but seems to want to hold him every second of the day.
Taj got all dressed up for his first Super Bowl Party as the Green Bay Packers and Pittsburg Steelers battled for the title. He was ready to play.

Even though the Raiders were not playing, he did enjoy the game and we were happy to see the Packers win.

Taj Beau Heller is Born

Taj Beau Heller was born at 4:29pm on Wednesday January 26th. He weighed 6lbs. 15oz. and was 19in long. We are so excited to see this beautiful boy grow and to see Kirra become the best big sister she could be.

2010 Holiday's With The Heller's

Wow! Time sure fly's by fast. It has been a while since our last post and yet so much has happened during that time. The Holiday's were such a blur this year but we had such an amazing time with our family and friends. Here were some of the highlights...

Thanksgiving began with Great Grandpa Lewis in Pasadena

where we celebrated with Grandma and Grandpa Heller along with the McVey's.

Next we stopped by to see Poppa and Grandma Chrisanne
where we saw all aunts and uncles on the Goodwin side.

We had a great Thanksgiving and were Thankful for time we spent with our family.

Then we went to Disneyland where we enjoyed the rides, characters, and Christmas Parade.

Then Kirra received a visit from Santa who was checking to see if she would be on his naughty or nice list on Christmas Day.

Christmas Eve we drove to Rancho with Grandma and Grandpa Heller along with Bobby and Elsie to see the Christma lights.

The McVey's joined us as we walked the streets decorated for Christmas.

Kirra woke up early Christmas Day in anticipation that Santa had stopped by.Fortunately she made the nice list and woke up Christmas morning to a full stocking and several presents. She had gifts for days as we even had to hide some and let her open them over the next few days after Christmas.

Later Christmas day it was quite the seen as the cousins were all surrounded by gifts and went crazy.
Finally, we ended the year in Ventura as we celebrated the New Years with the McVey's, Grandma and Grandpa Heller, Poppa and Grandma Chrisanne, Bobby and Elsie, and Tommy, Brandi, and Brooklyn.

It was a beautiful day in southern california and we decided to enjoy it at the beach. The weather was perfect and the waves were great. Kirra had a great time playing in the sand as you can see. Enjoy!

Pumpkin Carving & Trick or Treating

Happy Halloween everyone! We had a great time this year dressing up the kids and carving pumpkins the day before.

Brett was a Bunny, Ryann was super woman, Kirra the Cupcake, Ruby the cat, and Ellie the Pirate. We also saw Brooklyn the Lady Bug and Charlie the infant.

Chris Herman enjoyed cleaning his Pumpkin.

As did Jake and the Quintanilla Family.

Breanna kept the kids together and held on to Brooklyn.

Then Bobby the skeleton scared the kids.

Even the adults had fun dressing up.

The next night we took Kirra on her first trick or treating outing.

Grandpa Goodwin was their in case Kirra needed some knocking reinforcement.

Kirra loved the decorations and was not afraid.

She couldn't wait to dig into her basket.

Eventually Kirra had enough.

We had a great time and can't wait to see what happens next year when Kirra takes her little brother with her.

Today we took Kirra to the Pumpkin Patch with Grandma and Grandpa Heller where we met up with the McVey's. We had a great time picking out a pumpkin and Kirra especially enjoyed seeing her cousins Joe, Hailey, and Sierra.

Grandpa quickly pointed out the biggest pumpkins for Kirra to see.

Jenner Goes Back to El Salvador

Well, it was the forth year in a row that I traveled down to El Salvador with some surfing buddies, and once again we had a great time.

The crew this year consisted of Nick, Danny, Rich, Tyler, Eddie, Matt, and John.

Everyone had a great time hanging out at the beach...

Walking into town to eat some hot Papusa's...

and some fruit and ice cream.

We had great weather and were considered lucky since it had rained for a week straight prior to our arrival.

The boat ride to Punta Mango was always smooth and glassy.

Everyone really enjoyed surfing warm water with only a few other guys out.

It is always such an enjoyable trip.

The Perfect Beach Day!

It was a perfect beach day in Newport Beach. We were staying at the Rhino house on 36th street for the weekend. Grandma Chrisanne took Kirra on a walk to the beach early to get acquainted with the sand. Kirra hates the sand and I have only seen her standing on it once when she was too young to realize what she was doing. I was shocked to walk outside the house and find Grandpa Goodwin hosing sand off of Kirra's feet in her soaking wet pajamas. I was expecting to hear Kirra crying and yelling that Grandma Chrisanne had dropped her in the sand and forced her to touch it, but Kirra just smiled and bragged about how she played in the sand and buried her feet. At that point I was anxious to see this for myself.

So when we all headed to the beach for the day, Kirra was back to form and unwilling to touch the sand once again. Chrisanne had to step back in and work her magic. I was preoccupied digging holes and building a sand castle to entice Kirra when I looked up to see Kirra running towards me through the sand with uncle Bobby and Grandma Chrisanne. The rest of the day only got better as Kirra had the time of her life enjoying all that the beach had to offer.

Bobby had Kirra running back and forth for a half hour straight.

Daddy didn't get much attention with the sand castle so I joined the bucket filling festivities.

Even Grandpa Goodwin got wet which was much more rare than Kirra touching the sand.

Daddy kept a close watch and prepared to catch some waves.

As I passed Kirra on my way to the waves, she insisted that she wanted to go with me. I was hesitant at first but she showed no sign of resistance and wanted to go further out. This was the best moment ever as we paddled out passed the line up and prepared for Kirra's first surf session at age two. Here is how the session progressed.

It was a great day full of fun in the sun.

My 2nd Birthday is August 23, 2010 and I had a big party on Saturday. I had so much fun seeing my family and friends. Daddy set up the backyard like a playground and brought out my big pool.

Hello everyone,

The Heller's are back from their trip to Northern California where we spent time with the Garrett's and Chamber's before wrapping things up in Carmel where we spent a day at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Bobby and Elsie joined us on our excursion and experienced Happy Camp for the first time and you better believe that they are hooked and will be back sometime in the future.

We left Saturday 7/10 and made it to Sacramento in the afternoon where we were eager to jump in the river with the Garrett's. Kirby, Kennedy, and Cassidy showed us how to conquer the roaring rapids of the American River.

Kirra joined the fun and wanted to practice her swimming since we missed her Saturday swim lessons back home.

The next morning, Cindy lead Elsie, Bobby, and myself on a 4 mile run along the River. I said i would never go jogging but this run may have changed my perspective just a bit. After the run, we cleaned up and enjoyed a great breakfast with the Garrett's before heading off to Happy Camp.

We stopped at the Black Bear Diner in Shasta where we enjoyed lunch and caught the second half of the World Cup Soccer Final.

A couple hours later, we arrived and HC and waisted no time getting comfortable.

Kirra stripped down to her diaper before I could blink and was knee deep in the pool. She quickly migrated to the swing where she met Graham.

We did a quick tour of the property and checked out the chicken coop.

Kirra was excited to ride all of the toys around the property and was convinced she could handle this 4 wheeler.

Bobby and Elsie were just as excited and managed to get Kirra to let them ride.

Next we were lead to Clear creek by Chris and Brittany. We jumped off some rocks...

and soaked up the sun.

We were very pleased that Matt and Courtney rearranged their plans in order to spend some extra time with us. We were even more grateful that they cooked a few meals and were eager to bake a home made pie and whip up some homemade ice cream for us all to enjoy. You guys are welcome to the Heller house anytime, especially if you are in the mood for baking.

Tuesday morning, Bobby, Elsie, and I figured we should do something Active to work off the previous nights desert. Yoga overlooking the field was quite a treat and even Kirra joined us towards the end.

We followed that up with a morning dip in the spa.

Kirra was getting the hang of things and pretty much owned the place.

She drove me over to the Hay barn where we posed for this photo. George and Chris were a little anxious to bail and pack in the Hay which was what I had planned on doing myself during our visit. Oh well, maybe next time.

We enjoyed lunch at the Chamber's pizza house...

But were quick to get back to the pool were we spent most of our time during our stay.

we had a great time in Happy Camp and took home some great photos and long lasting memories.

Wednesday morning we headed out early and fought through the longest drive of the trip. We reached Carmel around 5pm which was just enough time to eat a nice dinner and drive to the beach for a nice sunset.

The next morning, we got an early start on the Monterey Aquarium after a morning jog and delicious breakfast. Our first encounter was with the otters.

The Jellyfish were exciting to see...

the Sea Horses were spectacular...

and the interactive kid friendly areas were fun for both mom and Kirra.

But the Kirra and Elsie tank was the most interesting.

The highlight of the Aquarium trip was the 11am feeding in the giant fish tank.

The fish were very Active and Kirra had the best view in the house

for some close encounters.

Monterey was fun and the weather was perfect for a day at the Bay.

That final evening, the 3 of us decided to take our dinner to the beach where we took in the final Sunset of our amazing vacation.

Well, that was our trip. we cant wait for our next big adventure. But now it is back to work and back to reality for us. We will keep you posted on our next documented experience.

Heller's In Cabo, Mexico

The Heller's are back from Cabo and what a great time we had. Kirra enjoyed her second trip on an airplane and was excited for her first visit outside the country. She has the cutest passport ever!

Grandma and Grandpa Heller came along as well as Danny and Jessica. It was an amazing group and we had a great time as you can see.

The trip was very relaxing and Kirra enjoyed putting her feet in the water the moment she awoke each morning...

Actually, we all enjoyed it and it was great to wake up and put on a bathing suit and sunscreen as well.

Next we would hit the beach but Kirra was not enjoying the sand and we would quickly need to head back to the pool.

Danny and I surfed each day and the waves were extremely fun. Head high, mellow crowds for the most part, and warm water!

One day we headed into down town Cabo and enjoyed a boat ride to the end of the peninsula. The boat was bumping the Pitbull album the entire time and it was quite the experience.

But most of our time was spent pool side...

and celebrating Laker last second victories with friends and family.

It was the perfect trip and we cant wait to go again next year.

Bobby & Elsie Wedding

Well, the big day finally came and it was absolutely amazing. Perfect Southern California weather and a beautiful setting for the Wedding. It all took place at the Hotel Laguna in Laguna Beach.

Thursday 5/13 was the rehearsal and it was full of excitement and anticipation.

It was a Beautiful day in Laguna and we soaked up the sun while waiting for the rehearsal to begin.

Chris, Jake, and Kirra found some alone time with Bobby and gave him some advice on being the best Husband possible.

Bobby realized they had no experience in the matter and decided to get back to the hotel.

Kirra and Chanel were the flower girls and they quickly became acquainted for rehearsal.

Bobby and Elsie looked great and it wasn't even the big day yet.

It was a great day for photos and we enjoyed a nice dinner at El Ranchito in Laguna.

Friday finally came and everyone was ready for the big day, even Brooklyn and Kirra were excited.

Kirra and Chanel looked adorable and were the best flower girls ever!

As usual, Bobby and Elsie looked amazing and sealed the deal!

Afterwards, we enjoyed taking several family photos and enjoyed the time we all had together.

The reception had a beautiful view and we all celebrated the joining of Bobby and Elsie.

Easter weekend was amazing this year! Our annual Easter camping adventure had us going to Leo Carrillo State Beach with the rest of the Heller family, the McVey's, and Geordie and Shannon Chambers. The weather was great, Kirra had a blast, and a good time was had by all. We took so many amazing pictures I don't know what to do with them all. Here are a few to get started with.

Well, March isn't quite over with but their has been a lot of exciting things going on thus far. Perhaps the most exciting has been the addition of Brooklyn Rose Goodwin to the family. Kirra has another cousin to play with now and has really enjoyed spending time with Brooklyn.

Kirra visited her in the Hospital and in her new home.

We also spent a beautiful Sunday afternoon at the Heller Grandparents house...

Next it was time to celebrate Auntie Elsie's and Danny's March B-Day's for an evening BBQ.

Kirra's best friend Ruby was at the party and they had a blast.

Finally, we decided to enjoy the new spring weather patterns by spending a Sunday at the beach.

The weather wasn't as good as expected but that didn't stop Kirra from having fun.

Holiday and the kids showed Kirra how to build sand castles...

and everyone had a great time.

It has been a fun month so far and we are excited for the good weather and the up coming Easter weekend of camping.

The Triplets are now 30! WOW!

It was a great weekend celebration at the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs. The weather was perfect despite the threatening forecasts and a good time was had by all. Most of the weekend was spent by the pool and in the spa, but we had some nice dinners and enjoyed some R & R.

I'm Going To Disneyland!

Hey everyone,

It's me Kirra. I wanted to let you know that I just went to Disneyland and had an amazing time. Mommy and Daddy took a friday off to take me to the happiest place on Earth.

Grandma "K" went as well and we all went on some fun rides.

It's a Small World was one of my favorites!

The highlight of the day was meeting my favorite character Minnie Mouse. She was so sweet and I think she really liked me.

I can't wait to go back and visit again.

New Years 2010 in San Simeon

After a long Holiday season at work, we got a little anxious and decided to head up to San Simeon a day early. The timing was perfect because we introduced Kirra to her new car seat for this drive, which meant she was facing forward for the first time ever. She really enjoyed the view and was able to see lots of things at the front of the car that she wanted to play with. Who ever thought a garage door opener could be so exciting? Eventually she sunk into her seat and took a nap with a new friend of hers.

The weather was great and we saw beautiful sunrises to start the mornings.

Our room was right on the bluff and we had grass for Kirra to play on. Every time I came back from a surf and set my board down, guess who was eager to jump on it?

We took Kirra to see the Elephant Seals which she enjoyed but after a few minutes she was more interested in all of the people that were around.

Our friends Danny, Jessica, Nick, and Melissa also came and we enjoyed the magnificent scenery.

Like I said, the weather was perfect and the sunsets were amazing.

Bobby was the man with the toast for the evening.

It was good times, great friends, and a trip to remember.

Merry Christmas

Hey everyone,

Kirra was only 4 months old last Christmas so we were really excited to see what types of reactions we would get from her this year. It started when we put up the Christmas tree and had to wait a week before adding the ornaments. She was overwhelmed with excitement and confusion and needed a week to adjust before adding more stimulation to the mix. Kirra finally got used to having a tree in the house and would say good night to the tree every time she went to bed. A week later, we crammed all of our ornaments in the upper half of the tree, out of Kirra's reach. Two weeks before Christmas we finished our shopping, wrapped the gifts, and put them under the tree. We were amazed that Kirra didn't seem to be interested in all of the presents that were within her reach, or so we thought. A couple days later, Kirra was all about the gifts. She was crawling under the tree, over the couch, and every which way to grab ahold of some presents. We were so thankful that Christmas finally came and we were able to free Kirra up to rip open her gifts. Ironically, she was over unwrapping gifts after the first couple and we actually had to wait till the day after Christmas to finish opening her presents.

Here is how the Holiday unfolded...

We got dressed up on Christmas Eve and posed by the tree.

Then went to Gina's house for some great food and fun.

Kirra played connect four with her cousin Sage,

and hung out with the Great's.

Kirra was excited for Santa Clause, and decided to wait for him to come down the chimney.

Christmas morning we woke up and treated Kirra to breakfast in bed.

we started with the stockings to ease into the excitement.

Kirra was excited to get a new cat. If you know Erin and I, then you figured out that the cat is not real. However, it sure acts real.

Her favorite toy was the airplane that Uncle Bob and Aunt elsie got her.

All in all, it was a great Christmas for the Heller family. Kirra is so fun to be with and everything is so much more exciting since we had her. Erin and I feel so fortunate to have such an amazing person in our lives and the fact that many old traditions feel new and exciting again since we have her to share them with. We look forward to many more great memories in the future.

Who ever thought that you could have a nice weekend get away in Riverside? My parents are definitely one of the few that would plan it. The Mission Inn was great and we enjoyed celebrating Holiday's Birthday.

Hey everyone,

November was a great month. I had so much fun and did so many different things.

Thanksgiving was spent with Family...

My friend Ruby came over one night to hang out...

I wore my new jammies...

Daddy started to teach me how to surf...

I went to my friend felix's house to play...

We went to the park and went on the swing...

I took my baths...

I got dressed up and went to the mall with Daddy...

I even went to a couple of High School Football games to watch Jake play in the band.

Hey Everyone,

Thanks so much for coming to my Halloween costume party. I had a blast playing with my friends and sharing all of my toys. All of your costumes looked great and everyone did a fantastic job carving pumpkins. Good luck getting candy on Halloween next weekend when you all go trick or treating. Kirra's First Visit to the Zoo

I am so excited to tell you all about my first trip to the LA zoo. My mom and dad took me with Grandma Krazy K and my Heller Grandparents. I saw so many cool animals that I have only seen pictures of in books. To see them in real life was amazing.

Jenner's Surf Excursion to El Salvador

On October 1st, 2009 I was on route to my annual surf expedition with my amigos Mark and Greg. For the third consecutive year we went to El Salvador. My main rationale for going to El Salvador is that it is only a 5 hour direct red-eye flight, the accommodations and food are very cheap, and you don't need to worry about renting a car.

Upon our arrival, Fransisco was their to great us and transport us to the surf resort that is about a 2 hour drive across the beautiful country. We pass about 3 volcano's and hundreds of miles of lush green vegetation. As I laid down in the van trying to get a little bit of rest before we reached the coast, I really started to get anxious for the waves I was going to surf. I decided to save some time by changing into my trunks and lathering up with sun block while we were still driving.
El Cuco is the actual town that the surf resorts are near but the surf spot itself is Las Flores.

This is the entrance to the more luxurious surf resort in El Salvador that is just across the beach from where we stayed.

As you drive through the bumpy dirt road, you get a few quick glimpses of the break through the tree's, that really gets my heart pumping.

And what do you know, we had solid 4ft-6ft+ swell for the entire trip just like the forecasts had been predicting. This is the spot directly out front that is a solid right hand point break with a rocky head land but sandy bottom all the way to shore.

Needless to say, it only took us a few minutes to get our boards unpacked, put our fins in, and wax up our shred sticks. We were enjoying the 85 degree water by 11am on the same day we left LA.

We surfed twice that very first day and got right into the swing of things.

Part of making the this place more special and inviting, is to get to know the locals. The very first day I stoked out a couple of groms with Active tee's and some boardshorts. They were selling some necklaces and bracelets and I was teaching them some sales tactics incase we need to recruite some future employees at Active in central America.

The next important part of going on a surf expedition, is to visit the local town and check out the local architechture and businesses.

While we were grabbing a bite to eat at the papusaria, we saw our friend walking around town. He joined us and we treated him to lunch.

Afterwards, we enjoyed some ice cream in the middle of town and watched all of the people stare at us starring at them.

But we did get to take some pictures with a couple of the locals.

And oh yeah, Greg got hit by a bus...

And I got arrested.

On Friday and sunday morning, we got up early to take a boat ride to the other surf spot that is about 20 minutes away called Punta Mango. Since El Salvador faces nearly straight south, the sun rises and sets over the water.

Sunrises are always amazing at Las Flores especially with the boats on the sand and surfers passing by.

The boat takes off right through the surf break and you get a nice view of the Las Flores lineup and the two other points that are around the corner.

The boat ride is a great time to get your sunscreen on and shove a few power bars down with some water.

Since we had a little trouble waking up on time, their were a couple of other boats that beat us there. Not to worry though, their are always plenty of waves at Punta Mango.

The Punta Mango wave has much more of a barrel on it than Las Flores...

And it packs more of a punch!

I like to sit a little further outside than the rest of the guys so I dont have to fight for waves.

But sometimes you just cant avoid them.

Their was some lip smacking going on...

and their were occasional showers, not from the clouds though if you know what I mean.

When the sun got intense, I would seek refuge in the shade.

This was the hottest time of the day as you can tell.

Mi Amigo Marcos, was looking for some refuge in the barrel as well.

The best part of all, is that you have your bro's there cheering you on.

Once the trip is over, it is always nice to say thank you and good bye. Mark, AKA the "Hulk" likes to leave the local kids with something to remember him by.

The one on the right remembered him from last year and came to wish him fairwell.

We stopped in town one last time as well, and picked up some ice cream for the road

This is one of the many volcanos you drive by on the way to and from the airport.

The flight home is spent thinking about the wonderful sights you just saw...

and all of the great waves you caught.

So, who wants to come next year?

September 2009 With The Heller's

Well, it has been a very eventful month but far less strenuous than the previous. Kirra is enjoying all of the new toys she received on her 1st Birthday last month.

She especially enjoys going for rides in her new buggy.

We went to a labor day pool party and just lounged

and then got a little wild!

September 8th was my birthday and Kirra helped me blow out the candles.

Kirra had fun playing with her cousins Sage and Cherish.

Poppa Bob and Grandma Chrisanne took Kirra to church one Saturday evening

So Kirra put on her nice dress and grabbed her lip stick and bracelet.

We spent one day at the beach to celebrate my 31st B-day

Kirra rode in the wagon with all of our stuff.

We also went to a family party where Kirra played in the grass and checked out the roses.

Happy 1st Birthday Kirra

Hey everyone,

Today is my first Birthday and I am enjoying all of the toys I got at my party yesterday. Mommy and Daddy threw a big party for me and tons of people came. I like Birthday parties, especially when it's my own. Here is a recap of how the party went...

Grandma tried to clean me up but I kept some cake souvenirs.

Next we opened gifts.

An hour later, we were still opening gifts.

Everyone was staring at me.

Mom and Dad got me my own little buggy.

This toy was my favorite but all of the gifts were great.

Thank you for sharing my Birthday with me, whether you were at the party or just thinking about me. I had a great time and can't wait for another Birthday Party. See you at #2.

Kirra's First Steps

It's official. Kirra took her first steps today and it was captured on film. That means she is one step closer to surfing. Literally.

She was showing off her moves a few weeks back.

She is getting pumped for surfing.

She has her eyes on the prize!

I never thought a girl with three teeth could look so beautiful.

Kirra has been practicing.

This time she took about ten steps. I missed the first couple but captured the rest. Must see TV. Afterwards, she commented on her accomplishment.

Kirra, how did it feel to walk for the first time?

"Well, I new I had it in me all along. I just needed to be in the right state of mind and just go for it. Everything came together and it just felt like it was time. I just want to thank my Mom and Dad for always being by my side and encouraging me"

San Clemente Weekend

Well, we had a nice family weekend get away to San Clemente and it just so happened that the swell of the century was hitting So. Cal. at the exact same time. Usually I try to plan my trips around waves but this just happened to come together perfectly on it's own.

We just hung out Friday evening and enjoyed the view.

Kirra's cousins visited Saturday and kept her occupied.

Nothing like eating pineapple poolside.

Thanks for Dinner Mom and Dad. The fajitas were sizzling!

Luckily these three were full from dinner. I ate most of the dessert!

Two of them just flew in from Paris. Show offs!

One Month Till One

Hey everyone,

I am 11 months old now, with 3 teeth, and almost ready to walk. My daddy wants me to walk really badly and although I am ready, I want to start teaching him that I will do things at my own pace. So I am holding out for now. You have to start training these parents early or else they think they need to show you how to do everything. They will learn, I have faith in them.

Anyways, I have been enjoying my summer with family and friends and many days at the beach. We have a big family weekend planned in San Clemente and can't wait to see the Grandparent Heller's and watch my daddy surf. I will be sure to have mommy and daddy take some picks so I can show you how it went.

New tricks that Kirra learned in Hawaii

Kirra learned to wave and perfected the art of rasberries while on our trip. She really puts her all into her rasberries.

We had a blast in Hawaii and Kirra was amazing. She did great on the plane and was so much fun to travel with. We were both a little anxious to see how it would work out but it was fantastic. The flight home she slept the entire time on our laps from before we took off until we reached the gate.

The weather was great the entire time with no rain and 80-85 degree sunshine. We had waves the whole time as well and it was never under head high. I was able to surf Rocky point with Bobby and Tommy every morning and we connected with my friend Chris for a few afternoon sessions as well. The water was amazing and it felt good to surf a week with no wetsuit. On Monday the swell was the biggest at about 8-10 feet and Jack Johnson was out surfing along side us. That was very cool since he is my favorite singer and a great surfer.

Kirra had so much to observe everyday that she would completely crash during some of our walks and drives home. She learned to wave hello and goodbye during our week in Hawaii and perfected the art of blowing rasberries. I have the most amazing video of her doing both that I will try to send via email but I am not sure if it will work. Anyways, we had a great time and this trip has really encouraged us to not hesitate taking Kirra on vacation with us if something exciting comes along.

Hey everyone, I am 8 1/2 months old now and have 3 teeth coming in. I just got back from Hawaii with my Mom and Dad. We went to the North Shore of Oahu and saw big waves, waterfalls, and turtles. We went hiking, lounged on the beach, took naps, and I went swimming in the ocean for the first time ever. Vacations are fun and I can't wait for the next one. I hope to see you all again soon.

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to check in and tell everyone about the many firsts I experienced this past weekend. It was my very first camping trip, the first time I slept in a tent, my first Easter, and my first Easter egg hunt. I got to see so many of my friends and family including some that I have never met before. My photogragher tried to catch as much of the action as possible but I was a very busy girl and he was not able to keep up with everything. You can see a bunch of the action in these pictures but I had so much more fun with everyone that I will always remember.
